The Holmes Law Firm

The PRIVATE JUSTICE PROJECT (PJP) is an initiative of the Holmes Law Firm to promote an understanding and acceptance of Private Justice as the primary and overarching object of ADR.  The initiative utilizes symposiums, seminars, professional skills training programs, white papers, academic and practice articles, writing competitions and public service announcements to promote and advance private justice policy, concepts, procedures and Private Justice-oriented results by neutrals.

Since its inception, The Holmes Law Firm (HLF) has dedicated itself to the utilization of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and procedures to fairly, impartially and justly resolve complex disputes between and among parties in accordance with their original contractual intent.  The delivery of these ADR services is our calling, and it amounts to nothing less than the provisioning of PRIVATE JUSTICE (PJ)* to our service beneficiaries. We believe that Private Justice is the ultimate object and must become the secured future of ADR.  This principle is the PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE*, and it is original with us and central to all that we do. Please stay tuned and watch your email box and favorite publication for project announcements and developments in the coming weeks, months and years.

(*PRIVATE JUSTICE (PJ) and the PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE are defined with more specificity below):

PRIVATE JUSTICE AND THE PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE

PRIVATE JUSTICE, defined:

  3. Personal Pronoun: An individual neutral engaged in the profession of privately and justly resolving disputes via the application of ADR processes and procedures.

THE PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE, defined:

Principle: The PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE is the principle that the provisioning of Private Justice (the noun) is the only legitimate objective of ADR (especially when Arbitration processes are invoked).

Process application: The above three private justice definitions, taken together with “Private Justice” (the noun) as the objective of all ADR, is the PRIVATE JUSTICE DOCTRINE.
